Something for everyone
A quiet road, especially past the turn off to Dalgety (Station Resort), head out into the farm land as far as you like. The road turns to dirt about 35km from Jindabyne, there is little phone coverage on this ride so if in a small group let someone know where you are and when to expect you back.
Charlotte Pass to Thredbo River
A downhill run for those who have a "shuttle" option. Drive to the Charlotte Pass carpark, unload the bike and enjoy the run, there are a few hills to get over but it is mainly downhill. Make sure your bike has good working brakes and do take care as you can build up speed on this road. Variants on this ride include starting at Perisher and riding to Charlotte's and back, starting at the Entry Station or even starting at Thredbo River. Feel free to explore the Guthega Rd as well. This area is great for riding with kids (who are competent riding on the road) as it offers some reasonable hills, great views, good road surfaces and wide roads with a good shoulder.
See the Category 2 Page, drive out of Jindabyne and start at the turn off from the road to Cooma. Enjoy the quiet road and rolling hills but beware of the steeper hills as you get close to the Lake - remember what goes down must go back up, this is an out and back ride so don't ride down something you don't want to climb back up!!
